Christmas Giveaway for Held Hostage Join the Book Chain
Updated: Oct 10
A book can be more than something that sits on a shelf after it's read. A book can feel like a hand reaching across the dark and saying, “You are not alone.”
This Christmas, I am giving away free copies of my book, Held Hostage, as part of a larger mission close to my heart. The giveaway is not only about sharing a story. It is about helping that story travel farther, from one reader to another, and into places where hope, strength, and understanding are deeply needed.
That is why this Christmas giveaway supports my book chain, a simple idea with a meaningful purpose. One person receives a book, reads it, and then has the chance to pass a book along until it finds someone who needs hope.

Why this giveaway matters at Christmas
Christmas is often described as a season of warmth, family, and belonging. For many people, it is. For others, it can be a painful reminder of fear, isolation, or a home that does not feel safe.
Survivors of abuse often carry stories that others never see. Some are still finding words for what happened. It took me many years to write Held Hostage because it was hard to put all of that pain on paper. I gave it a fictional twist because I wanted it to be suspenseful, but Held Hostage is a fictional thriller based on my own true story, a novel extremely close to my heart.
My book speaks to the emotional weight of being trapped, controlled, and silenced. It also points toward endurance, courage, and resilience.
This giveaway is my way of saying stories of survival matter. When a reader receives my book, they are becoming part of a chain of compassion.
How the book chain works
It's a simple idea. Read the book and pass it along to someone who needs hope. The goal is to offer a way to turn reading into an act of kindness.

What makes Held Hostage part of this mission
Held Hostage is more than a title. It reflects the feeling of being held in place by fear, control, manipulation, trauma, or circumstances that seem impossible to escape.
Many people think of abuse only in physical terms. Abuse can also include emotional cruelty, intimidation, financial control, manipulation, isolation, and constant fear. These experiences can leave a person feeling trapped long after the outside world thinks everything looks normal.
My book is meant to remind others that healing is possible.
That is why the book chain matters. It gives Held Hostage a chance to reach readers who may need its message. Written with abuse victims in mind, my novel is a tool to remind others that a healthy state of mind is imperative to change.
